Adjoining studios or suites are available for families and large parties. This is an authentic California ranch experience, complete with nearly every outdoor activity you can imagine, warm and helpful service, and the kind of brilliant, starry skies that only 10,000 acres can offer.

The timeless ambiance of the Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort is partially achieved by not offering televisions and telephones in the Ranch's guest rooms. For your convenience, house telephones and wireless high-speed internet access are available.

The History

The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort provides a window into the history of the Santa Ynez Valley. Cattle ranching, thoroughbred horse breeding, and beginning in 1946, hospitality, are all part of the Ranch's lore. The original inhabitants called this land “Nojoqui.” The new arrivals know it by the name “Alisal” (meaning “grove of sycamores”).

The Land

Nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley bound by a river on the northeast and a coastal mountain range on the southwest. The adjacent river and seasonal streams abound with ten pound steelhead trout. Rolling hills are dotted with valley oaks and coastal live oaks. Verdant glens and riverbanks support healthy groves of western sycamores.
